Designer dress by the inimitable Mr. Blackwell! Done in a emerald green iridescent taffeta with mesh illusion neckline. The mesh has a two large bows embroidered and embellished with rhinestones and beads. Fitted waist, slim skirt and a train in back! The train is actually gathered fabric that is longer and looks amazing from the side! Back metal zipper. Unlined. Matching belt.

Mr. Blackwell launched his label in the late 1950's and he dressed a lot of the the Hollywood stars such as Dorothy Lamour, Jayne Mansfield and others. His Custom line was made to order and fitted to a specific client in the couture tradition.

Condition: Excellent Vintage: some of the waist seams have slight, very slight pulling and the red of the iridescent taffeta shows through. The weave of the fabric makes the red show up a little more but is very, very minor. The belt does hide this.
